What is a message board?
Sometimes called a bulletin board, forum or membership site, a message board is an online gathering space where people with a common interest can communicate.
CollectiBoards has set up this message board to provide an opportunity for collectors from around the world to buy, sell and trade items from their collections.
We’ve designed the board to be broader than Craigslist, easier than Ebay and more affordable to use than auction sites.
How much does membership cost?
$29.99 per year. Not a dime more. There are no commissions, no listing fees, no seller fees, no buyer fees. No fees. Period.
What does the membership fee cover?
Unlimited posts. Unlimited categories. Unlimited advertising.
What kinds of items can be posted?
Just about anything that anybody anywhere would care to collect is fair to post.
Talk about items you want to buy. Talk about items that you want to sell. Ask questions about items in your current collection. Provide links to your Web site(s). Provide links to resources that you’ve found helpful.
For legal reasons, of course, we cannot allow posts about firearms, alcohol, tobacco, drugs/medications, or adult/pornographic materials. Please don’t post such items. If you do, we have to delete your post. If you insist on doing it again, we may have to revoke your membership.
Is there a size limit on the photos that I upload?
Yes. We limit the upload size to 8MB for a photo but we recommend uploading your photos in low resolution and try to keep them under 1MB for the best performance.
Is there a limit to items I can post?
No limits. As many items as you want in as many categories as you want. All for the same $29.99 per year.
Do you take a percentage of my sales?
No. You pay nothing to us beyond your annual membership fee.
Why do buyers have to pay the same amount as sellers?
This is a community for collectors and most of us, as collectors, not only sell things, but we buy things, too. Having one, low, flat-rate fee for membership keeps things simple and fair for everyone.
Also, it’s not an unusual experience for buyers to have to pay something to gain access to sellers. Think of it just like you would pay an admission fee at the door of a trade show/hobby show. Same principle applies here.
Are there any refunds?
Due to the nature of a message board, we really can’t grant refunds. This is a community. Come on in. Get involved. Start a discussion. Have fun and, if you have items to sell, make a profit.
You simply can’t match the value of CollectiBoards.. Unlimited advertising for less than 9 cents a day.
How do I log into the message board?
You’ll automatically be directed to the message board when you pay your annual membership. You’ll be able to pick a unique username and password during the sign-up process. You’ll use that information each time you log-in.
You may want to “Bookmark” the message board url or save it in your “Favorites”. Or simply return to our website and click on the “Member Login” button.
How do I post an item?
Simply find the category that you want to list your item in and click on “New Thread”. Give your post a title in the “Subject Line” and then type your listing into the body. There are no required forms or strict listing guidelines. Just use plain English and tell the members what you have to sell or what you’re looking to purchase.
How will I know that someone is interested in something I’m selling?
There is a checkbox if you want to be notified of replies to your posting. When you mark that box, you’ll get email notification of replies.
Is it really as simple as it sounds?
We sure think so. If you can compose an email, you’ll have NO problem using the message board. We welcome you to join us.
Whether you’re coming for profit or fun, we look forward to seeing you on the Board.
